REFLECT
Reflection is an important part of the computer science education journey. Use your Reflection Journal to keep notes (you can make a copy of our Reflection Journal template here).
- Gender stereotypes and bias start early. For instance, consider what characteristics you associate with a boy’s or girl’s toy. What are strategies you could employ to mitigate these stereotypes and bias in your classroom?
- What similarities and differences did you see between equitable CS teaching strategies and other equitable teaching strategies (e.g., culturally responsive teaching) that you already use?
- What equitable teaching strategy resonated most with you and why?
- How do you see yourself using it in your class and how will you know if it worked?
- What challenges do you think you might encounter using this strategy?
